Professional Practice

Applicants will provide evidence that their teaching skills have contributed significantly to the progress and achievement of pupils, and that they have worked collaboratively in the sharing of good practice, understanding of the subject and the professional development of colleagues.


Evidence might typically show (NB this list is not exhaustive):

  • Coherent planning of lessons and schemes of work which support pupils’ progress over time, which are intellectually stimulating and involve
    the use of a range of resources
  • Engagement of pupils in subject-based enrichment or extension activities
  • Successful use of a range of formative assessment techniques
  • Demonstration of impact on standards of teaching and learning in the subject
